Our Services
Ask about our full service HG Auto Engine Swap. We pick up your truck if its downed and bring to our facility, we remove your old engine and replace it with a brand new one built in-house with professional reinstall, and do a full tune up on your vehicle of fluids and critical components. Prices start at $14,000 for all Powerstroke models, and all of our engines come with a 2-year/Unlimited Mile Warranty.
Standard on all full service engine swaps are the following brand new parts: stock injectors, glow plugs, head studs (excl. 6.7 Powerstroke), pistons, rings, pushrods, lifters and bearings. Blocks and heads are professionally machined to like-new condition. At customer request, we can upgrade any and all components you wish, and will work with you to find the sweet spot for your build.
We love the sound of a diesel truck, just not inside the cab while we are driving one! We believe you should be able to hear when your truck is trying to tell you something is wrong, but nothing more—with our full sound proofing service you will notice a dramatically quieter ride with reduced road and engine noise. Your entire interior will be removed down to the carpet, and 3-4 coats of sound dampening material will be applied throughout. You might feel like you’re in an EV, but rest assured—your powerful diesel engine is still roaring.
We use a variety of high-quality materials for the process, and you will also enjoy a cooler cab in the summer and a warmer one in the winter after the insulation is installed.
Something wrong but you’re just not sure what it could be? We’ve been there. But with all the advanced technology at our hands (including Ford IDS software) and years and years of experience, we can help you identify what your truck needs and then help you choose the best option from there. We know bad news is always bad, but take some small solace in the fact that after a full diagnostic service if there is any work required exceeding $1,000 we will waive the diag costs—we want to make a living fixing problems, not just finding them.

As a boutique, appointment-only Diesel Shop, we provide our clients with the highest quality services at a far lower price than they are accustomed to seeing. We can do this because we are a highly skilled team of owner-operators, and we pass our low overhead costs down to our valued customers.
We are a team of in-house mechanics and engine builders who got fed up with the status quo and got sick and tired of seeing good hard-working truck owners taken advantage of, so we set out to change that. Whether it’s an upgrade you seek or a full service engine replacement, we are up to the task and we back our work 100%.
We sell and warranty the highest quality diesel trucks available anywhere in the country, and we do general client and service work. There is no job we cannot do, ranging from head stud jobs and engine replacements to oil changes and brakes.
And we certainly don’t believe that newer means better, and the 15 to 20-year old trucks on the road with our Seal of Approval prove that every day—they are as good or better than a brand new one off the lot, at a small fraction of the cost. About Us
Since he could walk, Ronnie has been working on engines, first with his Dad and then in multiple professional settings. He’s our cofounder and lead mechanic, overseeing all operations from engine-building to oil changes, and an expert on everything diesel. He’s had jobs building fences and welding, he’s worked in mechanic and hot-rod shops, manufacturing facilities and construction, and he started his first company in high school, a landscaping company.
A father of two and happily married to his wife Kassie, if he’s not working you can find him developing some new skill or kicking back with his two young girls, Hasiel and Hallie.
He is the standard-bearer for hard work, true grit, and endless determination.

Sam Heiler
With a degree in Finance from ASU and an 8-year background in high-level Construction Management, the diesel truck industry was never top of mind for Sam. In fact, before he met Ronnie he could barely change his own oil. But what has always been top of mind for him is a relentless drive for creating value and finding market needs.
Before becoming business partners, Ronnie used to work at the plant Sam managed. Once when faced with an outrageous 4-figure bill for a fix on his truck, Ronnie took a look and said he could fix it in 30 minutes with a $75 part. That experience and the realization that there is a market need for talented and honest diesel mechanics marked the birth of HG Auto.
If he’s not getting scolded by Ronnie for trying to help out around an engine bay, Sam can be found with his wife, Melissa, and their two boys, Jack and Theo.
Joe Gayler
Our full time in-house engine builder, Joe thrives working on meticulous processes, so naturally building engines has become his forte. He has mastered his craft, look for his signature gold color scheme on your HG Auto engine.
If you’re getting a new HG Auto engine, it was built by Joe. With years of experience and countless builds under his belt, we can confidently guarantee our engines for 2 years and unlimited miles, but rest assured—they will serve you well for far longer than that.
